How to Make a Colorful Felt Flower Wreath (even if you’re not crafty)

Colorless, average, and boring.

Don’t let this describe your front door!  You need a colorful wreath to upgrade that door.  I’ve got you covered.

Anyone can make this simple floral felt wreath.  It adds just the right pop of happy color on your door, while also adding great texture.

First, gather the supplies.  What I love about this wreath is that it doesn’t cost a fortune to make because most of it can be upcycled.  In fact, you might have many of the supplies on hand.

Supplies:

Grapevine wreath form :: You can find used ones in thrift stores or yard sales, then just pull the ugly outdated décor off of it and reuse!  That’s what I did for this one.

Spray paint :: Here’s the one I used

Felt

Hot glue gun

Here are the simple steps to make this beautiful wreath.  Anyone can do this DIY craft, even those of you who don’t think you’re very creative.  Here’s how:

Step 1:

If you buy your wreath form brand-new, then you are ready to paint.  If you buy it second-hand at a yard sale or thrift store, then just peel off the old flowers and decor.  If some hot glue residue remains, just flip your wreath over and use the cleanest side as the front.  You will be covering up blemishes with your felt flowers anyway.

Spray your wreath form in a fun color to contrast with the flowers.  I knew my felt stash was mainly pinks, whites, yellows, and oranges, so I chose a fun seaside blue color.

Step 2:

Form a variety of felt flowers in multiple styles and colors.

Here are my favorite flower tutorials.  Click on the links below the graphics to find the full tutorials on their sites.

Step 3:

Glue the flowers on the wreath form.  Hot glue works well but I also use this glue in my crafting.  It takes longer to dry, but it is more durable than hot glue.

That’s it! Seriously easy but oh, so happy and colorful.  See, I told you that anyone (even the non-crafty types) can create this wreath.
