Narnia, Hobbits & Homeschool Moms

What do Narnia & Hobbits have to do with homeschool moms?  Glad you asked.  Most homeschool families are very familiar with C.S. Lewis’ and J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary masterpieces.  But many times we don’t stop to discover how fighting in the trenches in World War I shaped their worldview, faith, and deeply influenced their writing.  I was intrigued by Joseph Loconte’s book A Hobbit, A Wardrobe, and a Great War, and found myself considering how homeschool moms are shaped by our own struggles.  I’m sharing today over on the Homeschooling with Heart Blog, which is a part of TheOldSchoolhouse.com family.  I hope you’ll join me over there.

Just as Lewis & Tolkien were shaped by their time in the trenches of WWI, we are shaped by the call to do hard things in our homeschool.
