How to Homeschool Without a Homeschool Room: Homeschool with Moxie Podcast #52

Contrary to what comes across on social media and Pinterest, not every family is able to have a dedicated homeschool room in their home. That’s okay, you can still homeschool well without a homeschool room. Here’s how.

Here's how to homeschool well, even without a dedicated homeschool room. You need to consider your set-up and then your daily systems.

Welcome to the show notes for Episode #52 of the Homeschool with Moxie podcast!

As a former classroom teacher, now homeschooling mom of five, I love to equip and encourage other homeschooling families.

Stick around to learn how to homeschool with moxie. It’s about embracing your journey and finding your groove.

EPISODE #52: How to Homeschool Without a Homeschool Room

After homeschooling for well over a decade, I can tell you that homeschool rooms are overrated. If you have the space or desire to create one, then by all means, do it!

But if you either have a tiny home, or don’t want to give up any of your living space for a formal school room, then you don’t have to. You can still homeschool successfully even without a homeschool room.

In fact, if you have young kids, you’ll find it easier to keep them on task and working if you’re altogether around the kitchen table, or reading together on the couch.

Older teens, especially those in high school, will be independent learners who appreciate being on their own while they study and work. They can check in with you without having a formal schoolroom to do it in.

Here are the resources that will help you work out your set-up and then daily upkeep systems as you homeschool without a dedicated homeschool room.

  • Decluttering Made Simple Workshop
  • Workboxes video
  • IKEA Homeschool Organization
  • Systems for Homeschool Paper Clutter
  • Homeschool Spaces Contest (peek inside 3 family’s homeschool spaces!)
  • Systems
  • Schedules & Routines for Homeschooling

Physical clutter in our homes leads to more stress in our daily lives, not to mention a loss of time as we have to constantly clean, organize, or sort through that clutter to find things.

Want to start taking your house back? Then join us in this workshop as we simplify the decluttering process and make measurable progress in one area this week. This workshop is all about quick wins.
